Honourable Fred Hutton
Minister of Housing
Member for Conception Bay East – Bell Island
For more than 30 years, Fred Hutton shared the stories of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as a journalist and broadcaster. In 2020, he left journalism and accepted a position as a Senior Advisor to the Premier.
Fred was elected Member of the House of Assembly (MHA) for the district of Conception Bay East-Bell Island in a by-election in January 2024. On February 29, 2024, he was appointed Minister of Housing.
Fred and his wife reside in Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s, where they raised their four children.
