$167,000 Contract Supports Further Renovations to NL Housing Units

Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation has awarded a $167,000 contract to TSG Contracting Ltd., for the renovation of three social housing homes on Whiteway Street and Hoyles Avenue in St. John’s.

The renovations and upgrades will include siding, window, door and roofing replacements, as well as electrical and ventilation system upgrades. The anticipated completion date for this project is February 2015.

In 2014-15, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation is investing $10 million to renovate another 450 social housing homes throughout the province.

NL Housing Continues Neighbourhood Revitalization

A $284,000 contract has been awarded to Eastern Siding Systems Inc., to provide exterior renovations and miscellaneous repairs on two Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation buildings located on Cashin Avenue in St. John’s.

“The contract will enable major exterior renovations to be completed on two more social housing buildings in the Cashin Avenue-Froude Avenue neighbourhood. These upgrades will enable the corporation to continue providing safe and affordable homes for eight families and individuals.”

Each building contains four units, and the renovation work will include siding, window, door and roofing replacements, along with plumbing, electrical and ventilation upgrades. The anticipated completion date for both projects is August 2015.

NL Housing Awards Contract for Roof Replacements

Newfound Roofing Ltd. has been awarded a $240,000 contract to replace the roofs and undertake related upgrades on two Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation buildings on Buckmaster’s Circle and Navy Street in St. John’s.

“These upgrades are part of Newfoundland and Labrador Housing’s annual Modernization and Improvement Program and its commitment to a continuous process of renovating social housing infrastructure throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.”

Flat roofs on the two buildings will be replaced with peaked roofs and the chimneys will be replaced. The work includes alterations to the bathroom and kitchen ventilations systems and related repairs. The anticipated completion date for this project is February 2015.

Renovations Improve Wallace Place Homes in St. John’s

Renovations have been completed on three social housing homes on Wallace Place in St. John’s, as the result of a $186,000 contract awarded to TSG Contracting Ltd. this past fall. The work included siding, window, door and roofing replacements, as well as electrical and ventilation system upgrades.
